This month, we had the pleasure of participating in the third edition of B Corp Café in Sofia—an event that reminded us why we do what we do.
In the warm and welcoming Sunset Hall at Maleevi Tennis Club, people and companies came together who share a common belief: that business can be a force for good. We connected with other Bulgarian brands that are already part of the global B Corp community, as well as those just beginning their journey toward certification. We exchanged insights, shared challenges and inspiration, and left feeling more hopeful than ever.

B Corp certification
B Corp is a global certification awarded to companies which have proved that they can achieve not only financial success, but also social and environmental impacts through transparency, ethical practices, and a deep commitment to sustainable development.
During the event, we spoke about the significance of achieving certification—especially for Bulgarian companies seeking to grow responsibly, mindfully, and with care for both people and the planet. It’s not just a label – it’s a mindset and a way of doing business. And sometimes, even the smallest changes – a new approach to packaging, more ethical partnerships, or a shift in internal processes – can lead to a meaningful transformation.
A community that inspires
Part of the magic of B Corp Café was the profound sense of belonging. Realising that we are not alone in our pursuit of a better world was truly invaluable. We listened to the stories of BlackPeak Capital, harmonica, and all the other participants whose actions are shaping the world around us.
For us at Wooden Spoon, sustainability has always been a foundation, not just an upgrade. Having the opportunity to speak openly about our mission, to share with other companies, and to witness this community grow was both humbling and truly inspiring. If you’re a purpose-driven company seeking sustainable solutions, know that you are not alone.
More and more often in Bulgaria, we’re meeting entrepreneurs who don’t measure success solely by revenue, but also by the positive impact they leave behind. These small, intentional steps are the building blocks of a more ethical and sustainable business environment.
